Why is Mindfulness so relevant today?
Mindfulness is the practice of being fully present and engaged in the current moment, with an open and non-judgmental awareness of one's thoughts, emotions, and sensations. It involves intentionally paying attention to the present moment, without getting caught up in distractions or preoccupations with the past or future.
Mindfulness is often cultivated through various forms of meditation, such as breath awareness, body scanning, and focused attention. It can also be practised in daily life, by bringing mindful awareness to everyday activities such as walking, eating, or communicating with others.
Through regular mindfulness practice, individuals can develop greater emotional regulation, cognitive flexibility, and overall well-being. It has been shown to have numerous benefits for mental and physical health, including reducing stress, anxiety, and depression, improving sleep quality, and enhancing immune function.
Why join this course?
You are welcomed into a safe and inclusive learning environment where discussion and openness are encouraged. Throughout this training, you will learn various meditation techniques; including breath awareness, mindfulness of body/thoughts/emotions, mantra meditation, and visualisation to help reduce stress, find ease, comfort and compassion. You will also explore the science behind meditation and its benefits, as well as the philosophy of yoga and its connection to meditation.
In addition to theoretical knowledge, you will develop your practical teaching skills through hands-on teaching and feedback sessions to help build confidence. You will learn how to create safe and effective meditation practices, modify practices for different circumstances (e.g trauma awareness), and guide students through meditation experiences that are both transformational and nourishing.
Who is this course for?
Yoga Teachers interested in exploring mindfulness meditation as a personal practice as well as learning how to effectively teach these techniques to others in an intelligent way. You are given the space to improve your skills, as we offer a variety of introductory mindfulness practices and skills for supporting your students in overcoming common obstacles and questions that arise, while providing ample practice time and inspiration to evolve your own practice. You are also welcome to join even if you are not a yoga teacher, and simply want to learn more. In this case, you will not need to participate in assessments.

What will I be qualified to teach?
Upon completion of this course, you will be equipped with the knowledge, skills, and confidence to lead meditation practices in a variety of settings, including yoga studios, workshops, masterclasses, wellness centres and private classes. You will also receive a Yoga Alliance US accredited certification, which will enable you to teach meditation yoga classes worldwide.
