Why is Prenatal Yoga Training Important?
The postpartum period is a delicate time of physical recovery, emotional adjustment, and hormonal shifts. Often, new mothers are eager to return to movement, but diving straight back into a standard yoga class can be detrimental to their healing bodies, particularly concerning the pelvic floor and abdominal wall. As a teacher, knowing how to safely reintegrate these students into practice is vital. This training gives you the specialised knowledge to adapt practices for postpartum bodies, ensuring you can confidently guide them in rebuilding strength, finding deep rest, and safely returning to exercise when the time is right.
Why Join This Course?
This profound training focuses on the timeline of postpartum recovery and how to safely reintroduce a physical yoga practice. You will explore deep anatomy, restorative practices for exhausted mothers, and specific postnatal pranayama. Furthermore, you will learn the joyful and practical art of Parent & Baby Yoga, discovering how to safely engage and include babies in the practice. Through pair work and teaching practice, you will leave feeling entirely prepared to support the well-being of new Mums.
Who is This Course For?
Designed for yoga practitioners and current teachers who want to safely support women in their post-pregnancy journey. It is perfect for those looking to run specialised Parent & Baby classes, or for teachers who want the confidence to adapt their general classes for students who have recently given birth.
What Will I Be Qualified to Teach?
Upon full attendance and successful completion of this Yoga Alliance accredited CPD course, you will be fully equipped to:
- Lead specialised Postnatal Yoga classes that safely support the physical and emotional recovery of new mothers.
- Facilitate engaging and bonding Parent & Baby Yoga classes.
- Intelligently and safely modify regular yoga classes for postpartum students, offering appropriate alternatives for core and pelvic floor recovery.
- Deliver restorative practices and meditations specifically tailored for the sleep-deprived and healing postnatal body.
Final Thoughts
This course will provide you with a nurturing and deeply knowledgeable space, guiding you through the complexities of postpartum anatomy and teaching methodologies, ensuring you leave with absolute confidence in your ability to support new mothers.

No, all course dates are fixed and set in advance. Please ensure you are available for all advertised dates before booking your place.
No formal qualification or prior experience is strictly required. However, having an established personal practice or a background as a yoga teacher is strongly recommended to get the most out of the training.
Yes! While the course equips you with the skills to teach, many new mothers and practitioners join purely to better understand postpartum recovery, learn how to safely rebuild strength and support their pelvic floor, and create a deeply restorative practice for their own well-being and self-care after birth.
The core training is delivered fully in-person. However, to help integrate your learning and fulfill your non-contact hours, you will be asked to create class sequences and complete a written test in your own time. Once complete, you will email your assignments for marking before receiving your certificate.
Part of the assessment is continuous throughout the training. It includes active participation, hands-on teaching practice with your peers, and constructive feedback sessions designed to build your confidence as a teacher. You will also be given homework to create class sequences and complete a short test in your own time.
Upon successfully completing all in-person hours and coursework, you will receive a Yoga Alliance US accredited certification, qualifying you to lead meditation classes, workshops, and private sessions globally.
Bring a notebook, a pen, pencil and/or highlighters, comfortable clothing suitable for gentle movement and sitting, and a water bottle. All mats, bolsters, and training manuals will be provided for you at the studio.
